After getting bumped in 6 games against the Washington Wizards in the first round, the Atlanta Hawks have faced somewhat of a crossroad in the direction they want to head in.
For starters, there has been a multitude of reports suggesting the firing of Hawks GM Wes Wilcox. The next domino to fall was head coach Mike Budenholzer relinquishing his position of Hawks team President. These are two huge front office moves that could shake the Hawks up, all while Hawks power forward Paul Millsap is a pending free agent this summer.
Now, the focus has been put towards finding names of potential GM candidates that could replace Wilcox, if the Hawks decide to shake things up in the front office. Names like Joe Dumars and Cleveland Cavaliers’ GM David Griffin have been thrown around as potential candidates, but a new name has surfaced that could be a top target for the job.
Another executive, per league sources, poised to emerge as a candidate to lead the Hawks’ revamped front office: Oklahoma City’s Troy Weaver

Troy Weaver is currently the Vice President and Assistant General Manager for the Oklahoma City Thunder and has served in those roles since 2010. This is yet another big name that has emerged in the Atlanta Hawks GM race and things could be very interesting this summer for the Hawks.
