Triller has found its next boxing match, but it does not feature any experienced boxers. The growing content hub has announced that its next boxing match will feature Ex-UFC stars Anderson Silva and Tito Ortiz. The eight-round cruiserweight boxing match will take place on September 11 and serve as a co-main event for the previously scheduled bout featuring Oscar De La Hoya and Vitor Belfort.
“I am very excited to have the opportunity, along with my team, to get in the ring against Tito Ortiz on Sept. 11 with Triller Fight Club, who are really shaking things up in the combat sports world,” Silva said.
Silva won his pro boxing debut against Julio Caesar Chavez Jr. while Ortiz has never boxed professionally. He will make his boxing debut on September 11.
“I am excited to be taking on a new challenge and compete against another great fighter in Anderson Silva,” Ortiz added.
“As a patriot, fighting on Sept. 11 means a lot to me.”
Rounding out the event, former heavyweight champion David Haye will come out of retirement to fight millionaire boxing enthusiast Joe Fournier. Andy Vences and Jono Carroll will also compete in a 130-pound battle.
All fights will be sanctioned by California State Athletic Commission and count towards the professional record of each fighter.
