Cleveland Indians right-hander Trevor Bauer has reportedly been traded to the Cincinnati Reds with the main player coming in return being Yasiel Puig in a three-team deal with the San Diego Padres also involved. Jeff Passan broke the original news and followed up after with the known details.
What we know about monster Indians-Reds-Padres three-way trade, per sources:
Cincinnati gets: RHP Trevor Bauer
Cleveland gets: OF Franmil Reyes, LHP Logan Allen, OF Yasiel Puig, 3B Victor Nova (per @AJCassavell)
San Diego gets: OF Taylor Trammell
LHP Scott Moss also involved.

Franmil Reyes and Padres number seven prospect Logan Allen will also be headed to Cleveland with the Reds number one prospect Taylor Trammell heading to the San Diego. Third Baseman prospect Victor Nova and relief pitcher Scott Moss will also join the Indians.
The Reds were able to add a top-notch pitcher in Bauer who is 9-8 on the season with a 3.76 ERA while striking out 185 batters in 156.2 innings pitched. In return the Indians got a haul, with the biggest name being Puig from the Reds who is batting .255 on the year with 22 homers and 60 RBI, the Padres sent Reyes who will be another great power option for the Indians with 27 homers in 98 games this season.
This gives the Reds another solid pitcher to go along with Luis Castillo and Sonny Gray, but the Reds are losing one of, if not, their best batter in their lineup. Does this put Cincinnati in the playoff discussion? It’s hard to say as they sit at 49-55 on the year right now and it’s unclear which batter is going to step up his game and fill the spot that Puig held in the lineup.
The Indians, on the other hand, went from quietly being one of the better teams in the AL to making a lot of noise, putting their name right back at the top as a contender to win the World Series. This was the second blockbuster trade of the trade deadline season having Marcus Stroman dealt to the New York Mets on Sunday as the only other big trade of the deadline season.
Brawl in Cincinnati:
For the 2nd time this year, Yasiel Puig is in the middle of a Reds-Pirates altercation.

Puig will most likely be receiving some discipline from the league as the Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates just had a major brawl in which Puig was heavily involved in. Reds relief pitcher Amir Garrett charged the Pirates dugout looking for a fight and he got one. The league already disciplined Bauer for his “long toss demonstration” as his Indians send-off. The league will for sure be offering some discipline down on Puig for his involvement in the brawl.
