The New York Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for Jacques Bermon Webster II, best known as Travis Scott. The Big Apple’s police force says the Houston native punched a sound engineer and caused $12,000 worth of damage early Wednesday morning.
The incident in question allegedly took place at Club Nebula in Midtown at approximately 3:25 a.m. EST. The sound engineer reportedly called the police and said that “he was involved in a verbal dispute with” Travis Scott. Shortly thereafter, the “verbal dispute” turned into a “physical dispute” that allegedly involved the chart-topping artist striking the engineer with “a closed fist on the left side of the face.” Making matters worse, the performing artist is accused of damaging a speaker and a video screen, causing approximately $12,000 worth of damage. By the time the police responded to the incident, Travis Scott has reportedly left the scene.
The New York Police Department is currently reviewing surveillance footage from the venue around the time of the alleged incident. Meanwhile, representatives for the Grammy-nominated act have not issued a formal comment as they gather all pertinent details. The Houston native is set to headline Rolling Loud in California this weekend.
