In his first season as the Head Coach of the Duke Blue Devils, Jon Scheyer has completed a perfect season at home. Despite some struggles on the road, Duke has been impossible to beat in Durham, North Carolina. After beating the North Carolina State Wolfpack on Tuesday night by a score of 71-67 the team completed a perfect 16-0 season at Cameron Indoor Stadium. With that win, Scheyer became the first ACC Head Coach to finish undefeated at home in his first season as the Head Coach of a program. A major achievement for the Head Coach.

Since being named the Head Coach in waiting for Mike Krzyzewski, there have been high expectations for Jon Scheyer. This accomplishment is an indicator that the Blue Blood basketball program is still in good hands. With that being said the job for the season is not finished. Duke closes out the regular season on Saturday against their arch-rivals the North Carolina Tar Heels in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Then the program will play in the 2023 ACC Tournament and the 2023 NCAA Tournament. While championships are nothing new to the Blue Devils, winning them in the Scheyer’s first season would be a massive accomplishment to end the college basketball season. How will the program end their season with a first-year Head Coach?
