As the 2020 Major League Baseball has officially kicked off, the Toronto Blue Jays have been in a scramble to find themselves a home ballpark for the 2020 season. Looking at their options, they have finally settled on Sahlen Field as home.
The Blue Jays are going to be using Sahlen Field, which belongs to their Triple-A affiliate, the Buffalo Bisons. This will be their home for the 2020 season, where they will play all home games. So technically speaking, they are the Buffalo Blue Jays for the 2020 season with this agreement to play at Sahlen Field.

NY State Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the Toronto Blue Jays will play in Buffalo this season. Maryland was considering allowing them to play at Camden Yards in September, but team decided they can’t keep waiting. https://t.co/OHSq3rnwuJ

The Blue Jays had been in agreement with the Pittsburgh Pirates franchise to let them use PNC Park as the 2020 home of the Blue Jays. This ultimately fell through after the Pennsylvania Health Department announced it would not be allowing the Blue Jays to use the facility. It was considered to be a health risk and too dangerous to allow it to happen, so they shot down the plan.
Now, the Blue Jays were given the all-clear for Sahlen Field in Buffalo, but they will need to make changes as they are not out of the woods yet. They need to fix the lighting to ensure that night games will go smoothly for the organization as they get underway in 2020.
On top of that, they need to ensure that the facility meets the protocols for COVID-19. They may have to change some things and make improvements around the facility to make sure they comply with these protocols.
