Paramount has announced that they will delay the releases of Top Gun: Maverick and A Quiet Place Part II until 2021. A Quiet Place Part II will be released on April 23, 2021 instead of September 6, 2020. Top Gun: Maverick will be released on July 2, 2021 instead of December 23, 2020.
“We truly believe that there is no movie-viewing experience like the one enjoyed in theatres,” Paramount President of Domestic Distribution Chris Aronson said.
“We are committed to the theatrical experience and our exhibition partners, and want to stress that we are confident that, when the time comes, audiences everywhere will once again enjoy the singular joy of seeing Paramount films on the big screen,” he added.
A Quiet Place Part II and Top Gun: Maverick are the latest in a long line of films to be pushed back. Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Jackass, Under the Boardwalk and The Tiger’s Apprentice have all been delayed.
