AMC has announced that The Walking Dead’s tenth season finale will not air in April as previously scheduled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has made it impossible for the network to complete post-production on the season’s finale at this time.
“Current events have unfortunately made it impossible to complete post-production of The Walking Dead Season 10 finale, so the current season will end with its 15th episode on April 5,” AMC stated.

The previously scheduled finale will now air as a special episode later this year. In order to accommodate new and returning fans, the network will offer the first eight episodes of season ten for free beginning on April 5, 2020.
In addition, the network has suspended production of the show’s eleventh season. The show’s spin-off series, The Walking Dead: Beyond World, will also be postponed. It was originally scheduled to premiere on April 12, 2020.
AMC will air the penultimate episode of season ten as scheduled on April 5, 2020.
