The Game has unveiled the track list for his eleventh studio album, Drillmatic: Heart vs. Mind.
Serving as the follow-up to Born 2 Rap, Drillmatic will be slightly longer than its predecessor. This time around, the Los Angeles native will up his output from 25 tracks to 30 records. The Game’s initial post did not include any features, but his previous work indicates that there will likely be a number of collaborations on the project. For example Born 2 Rap featured Chris Brown, D Smoke, Anderson .Paak, Ed Sheeran and several others. Other projects like Jesus Piece have featured the likes of Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole and Rick Ross. Not to mention, he released “Eazy” with Kanye West earlier this year.
While The Game did not list any featured artists in his track list reveal, he has been open about Hit-Boy’s contributions to the album. The Los Angeles native even mentioned Hit-Boy via Instagram during the track list reveal.
“As Hit-Boy would say, ‘[It’s a] 30 clip!’,” he wrote.
The Game has also gone into detail when discussing the challenges he face during the recording of Drillmatic. Weeks ago, he detailed his setbacks in a lengthy letter for fans on Instagram.
“My apologies for the delays, but fans sometimes don’t understand how hard it is behind the scenes trying to clear samples on over 30 records & to get publishing splits, agreements, mixes approved, featured artists agreements & a million other things done in order to have a clean, flawless album put together & released,” he wrote.
“What I can guarantee you is that I personally put my heart & soul into this album from beginning to the end & anyone who’s come by my studio or heard this album will tell you that it is everything you expected it to be.”
On August 12, fans will have an opportunity to hear what The Game and Hit-Boy have been cooking up. Until then, check out the Drillmatic track list below.
