MTV has reportedly set the stage for a six-part documentary that will explore one of their most popular properties, The Challenge. Set to premiere this summer, the six-part project will expire the creation of the show and its most shocking twists and turns. Along the way, the show’s creators, producers and famous contestants will appear. Thus far, Variety has confirmed that Wes Begmann, Johnny “Bananas” Devenazio, Aneesa Ferreria, Mark Long and many others will participate in the documentary. Also, celebrity fans like Kim Kardashian and Vernon Davis will contribute.
The Challenge, formerly known as Road Rules: All Stars, is one of MTV’s most successful series. Debuting in 1998, the show has gone on to deliver 500 episodes over 37 seasons along with a number of spinoffs like Champs vs. Stars and All Stars.
A sneak peek of the six-part project will air on June 5, 2022 during MTV’s broadcast of the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards: UNSCRIPTED. The Challenge: CBS is also set to premiere closer to the debut of the upcoming documentary series.
