Wide receiver Robert Woods has landed a two-year deal with the Houston Texans worth $15.25 million.
At 30 years old, Woods is entering his 11th season in the NFL. He Has spent the first ten years of his NFL career with the Tennessee Titans, Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills. Along the way, he has accumulated 7,604 receiving yards, 507 rushing yards, 42 total touchdowns and 623 receptions. Not to be forgotten, he won Super Bowl LVI as a member of the Rams in February 2022.
Woods spent the last season with the Tennessee Titans down in Nashville, Tennessee. In the AFC South, he caught 53 passes for 527 yards and two touchdowns. After the Titans finished with a record of 7-10 and missed the playoffs, the franchise cut ties with veterans like Woods, Taylor Lewan and Ben Jones. All-Pro running back Derrick Henry has also been rumored to be on the trade market.
Woods will remain in the AFC South and join a wide receiver core that currently includes Brandin Cooks, John Metchie III and Nico Collins. Next up, the Houston Texans will turn their attention to the 2023 NFL Draft in Kansas City, Missouri. Houston holds the second pick of the first round in this year’s draft.
