Damian Lillard on Terry Stotts' contract extension: "He deserves it."

Terry Stotts has coached the Trail Blazers since 2012, previously serving in Head Coach positions for the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks. This season saw the Blazers reach the Western Conference Finals after defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder in five games following Damian Lillard’s infamous buzzer-beater in the first round of the Playoffs, and subsequently defeating the Denver Nuggets in a decisive Game 7 before falling to the defending champion Golden State Warriors.
Despite the sweep administered to the Blazers by the Warriors, the 2018-19 season has to be considered a comparative success to the 2017-18 campaign that ended in a first round sweep by the New Orleans Pelicans, and the steps forward taken in Portland have given Coach Stotts some job security for the near future.
