Washington Redskins wide receiver Terrelle Pryor underwent arthroscopic surgery on his ankle Monday. Head coach John Gruden said that Pryor will be placed on injured reserve, ending Pryor’s season. Pryor was inactive this past week to see a specialist about his ankle. Ian Rapoport shared the news on Twitter.

Terrelle Pryor will end the year on injured reserve. What a big disappointment his season has been for all parties involved

It is safe to say that this year has been a huge disappointment for Pryor. The former Ohio State Buckeye, who was a quarterback and not a wide receiver, has just 20 catches for 240 yards and 1 touchdown. This is a big turnaround from last year where he had a breakout year with 77 catches for 1,007 yards and 4 touchdowns.
This season may also dash the hopes of Pryor signing a multi-year contract with a team. He was offered a four-year deal by the Cleveland Browns after last season but he turned it down. He then signed a one-year deal with the Redskins with the hope of receiving a multi-year deal in the offseason.
It has been a disappointing year for both Pryor and the Redskins. The Redskins currently sit at third place in NFC East with a 4-6 record. The Redskins will try to turn things around in their next game against the New York Giants.
