On July 29, 2023, Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford will meet in a welterweight showdown at T-Mobile Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. With the fight less than two months away, sportsbooks have set the first betting lines for the fight. As of May 26, DraftKings has set WBO Welterweight Champion Terence Crawford as a -145 favorite to beat Spence Jr. Not far behind, unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. is designated as a +115 underdog to beat Crawford. In short, it’s a 50/50 fight.
Former fighters have already offered their predictions for the highly-anticipated title clash. Recently, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson said that Crawford was his pick to win the title fight.
“The reason why I say Crawford is because looking at the guys they both fought, like, Porter and stuff,” Tyson told ES News.
“Nobody did to Porter what he did to him.”
Similarly, former world champion Oscar De La Hoya picked Crawford as the favorite heading into the welterweight clash.
“Crawford has the ability, skill and IQ [to beat Errol Spence]. You can see it. You don’t have to be a genius to know who is the better boxer,” De La Hoya told Fight Hub TV.
Spence Jr. will have a chance to prove Tyson and De La Hoya wrong when he meets Terence Crawford in the center of the ring on July 29 in Las Vegas.
