TBS has delayed the television debut of Dana White’s slap-fighting league, Power Slap. Initially, the network agreed to air Power Slap matches on January 11, 2023 at 10 p.m. EST. As of Thursday afternoon, TBS reportedly informed multiple media outlets of their decision to delay the debut of the slap-fighting league until January 18, 2023.
The decision to delay the debut of Power Slap has been made just a few days after UFC President Dana White was seen hitting his wife, Anne, at a nightclub in Mexico. In a video obtained by TMZ, Anne White appears to hit Dana White in the face. From there, Dana White appears to put her hands on her once more. Then, Anne White falls to the ground as it appears a bystander intervenes.
Immediately after video of the altercation appeared on TMZ, Dana White spoke with Harry Levin on air. White told the popular outlet, “There is no excuse.”
“I’m in Cabo, Mexico, for the holidays with my family and my wife and I were out with family on New Year’s Eve, and unfortunately that’s what happened,” White told TMZ.
“I’m one of the guys, you heard me say for years: There’s never, ever an excuse for a guy to put his hands on a woman. And now here I am on TMZ talking about it. My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years. We’ve known each other since we were almost 12 years old. We’ve obviously been through some sh*t together and we’ve got three kids, and this is one of those situations that’s horrible.”
At this time, ESPN nor Endeavor have issued a statement regarding White’s actions. It is also unclear if or when White will face any punishment for his actions.
