The Phoenix Suns have signed Jimmer Fredette to a two-year deal with a second-year team option and are currently waiting for clearance from China for the guard to return to the NBA, according to the Athletic’s Shams Charania. The team later would confirm the deal.

Fredette hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2015-16 season when he was a member of the New York Knicks. During his hiatus from the NBA, Fredette was lighting it up in the Chinese Basketball Association as a member of the Shanghai Sharks through three seasons.
During his time with Shanghai, Fredette was a three-time All-Star and won the CBA International MVP in 2017. In his last season with the Sharks, Fredette averaged 36 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.6 steals per game while shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 41.9 percent from beyond the arc.
This past season, Fredette dropped an outstanding 75 points in a single game which is the second-most points scored in a CBA history.
