The Golden State Warriors have followed up their historically good regular season with a strong start to the postseason. They swept Anthony Davis’ Pelicans, and won game 1 vs. the Grizzlies.
Warriors’ Head coach Steve Kerr has done a fantastic job in his first year coaching, and is just the 5th head coach in NBA history to win the first 5 playoff games of his career. The other four to do so before him are:
Pat Riley(9),
Johnny Kundla(7),
Mike D’Antoni(5), and
Bill Sharman(5).
Despite Kerr’s excellent season, he did not win Coach of the Year, coming in second place behind Atlanta’s Mike Budenholzer
The Warriors are looking like favorites to win it all this year. They have a very talented team, including superstar point guard Stephen Curry, who will reportedly be named MVP this week(per CSN Bay Area’s Monte Poole), and a superb coach to lead them. The rest of the NBA will be hard-pressed to keep the championship out of the Dubs’ hands.
