Stephen Fulton Jr. is ready to return to the ring.
The former super bantamweight champion is reportedly set to fight fellow super bantamweight champion Brandon Figueroa on Friday, December 14 in Houston, Texas. Figueroa and Fulton are both new to the featherweight division. Figueroa made his division debut against Carlos Castros in 2022 and won by stoppage in the fifth round. Since then, he’s earned two wins against Mark Magsayo and Jessie Magdaleno. Meanwhile, Fulton Jr. made his featherweight debut in September and beat Carlos Castro by decision.
Figueroa and Fulton Jr. may be new to the featherweight division, but they are very familiar with each other. The two met in a super bantamweight unification fight in 2021. Fulton Jr. won by majority decision, but Figueroa called it “the biggest robbery of the year.”
“I was catching him between the shots he was throwing,” Fulton Jr. said in response.
Figueroa and Fulton Jr. will be able to settle the score at an event headlined by Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Lamont Roach. The two fighters from the Mid-Atlantic will fight for the WBA Lightweight Championship. Houston area native Jermall Charlo is also expected to return to the ring for a super middleweight bout.
