Days may go by, but one thing remains the same. SZA’s SOS has maintained its spot atop the Billboard 200 chart for a tenth consecutive week. Down 7% from the previous week, SZA’s SOS moved 87,000 units during the week of February 23, 2023.
“You know when something is really popular, the positive is loud and the negative is loud? I’ve never been quite this popular before, so the negative is also really loud, and it threw me off. I was like, “OK, cool. Noted.” And I tried to figure out what actually resonates with me as a true assessment of my work and what is not true and something I can’t allow myself to internalize,” SZA said about the album’s reception thus far.
The last album to achieve this feat was Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Si Ti. It spent 13 weeks atop the Billboard 200 chart before being dethroned. With that being said, Adele’s 25 was the last album released by a woman to earn 10 weeks atop the charts.
SZA’s album may be declining in sales for the time being, but it could soon get a jolt in energy from fans around the world. During a recent interview, the New Jersey native said that she has a deluxe version of the album featuring “10 additional tracks” that will be released “soon.”
While fans wait for the updated version of SOS, SZA has already kicked off her first arena tour. She recently performed in Boston and Washington, D.C. and will stop in Philadelphia and New York this weekend.
