TBS is finally ready to give fans a taste of what to expect from their upcoming series Snowpiercer, an adaptation of Bong Joon Ho’s 2013 film of the same name. According to Deadline, the series will host a panel on Saturday, July 20th with stars Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Lena Hall, and Steven Ogg. Executive producer and showrunner Graeme Manson will also be on-hand to give fans an exclusive first look at the series.
It’s unknown if there will be any direct ties to the film but the series will be set at least seven years after the world has become an icy wasteland. In the world of the show, the last of humanity has boarded a huge train that circles the globe constantly in order to survive. However, as the film shows, things have only gotten worse for much of the people on board as the cars are used to divide them into classes, seemingly arbitrarily. The series will tackle complex themes such as class warfare and social injustice as the train circles endlessly.
