Young, speedy guard Shane Larkin was sent to the New York Knicks last summer in a deal that saw Tyson Chandler get sent to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Larkin, Jose Calderon and other pieces.
Larkin is a great energy point guard but the Knicks future plans do not include him, especially with both Calderon and newly drafted Jerian Grant on the roster.
So instead of going far, far away, Larkin will stay in New York and join the Brooklyn Nets.
Following from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
Free-agent guard Shane Larkin and the Brooklyn Nets have agreed to a two-year, $3 million contract, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
The deal will include a $1.5 million player option for the 2016-17 season.
Larkin is a great pick and roll point guard, can shoot a little bit and will be a great backup for Deron Williams on the Nets. Unfortunately for Larkin, this will be his third different team in as many years. He’s been in the league for a short amount of time and has bounced around so hopefully with the Nets he can stick around and make a big impact in time for his next contract.
