Two-division world champion Shakur Stevenson has inked a sponsorship deal with Reebok.
“I think we’re great for each other,” Stevenson told Footwear News.
“They believe in me the same way I believe in myself, and I think that with them behind me, we’re going to be unstoppable. I’m going to lift up the brand and bring the brand a lot of eyes from the sport. It’s going to be an amazing partnership.”
Stevenson is the latest athlete to ink a deal with the athletic apparel brand. This fall, Reebok has added LSU Lady Tigers Forward Angel Reese and Chicago Bears Quarterback Justin Fields to its roster. Not to mention, Allen Iverson and fellow Newark, New Jersey native Shaquille O’Neal have taken leadership positions within the brand’s basketball department.
Stevenson will make his Reebok debut on Thursday, November 16 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Newark, New Jersey native will fight Edwin De Los Santos for the vacant WBC World Lightweight Championship at the T-Mobile Arena on ESPN. With a win, Stevenson will turn his attention toward other champions and contenders, including Teofimo Lopez, Gervonta “Tank” Davis, Devin Haney and Frank Martin. Regardless of what is to come, Stevenson is hopeful Reebok will be by his side.
“I would definitely like a partnership with them long term,” he said about his new partnership with Reebok.
“I would like them to get behind me and we could come up with my own shoes – regular shoes, boxing shoes. And put together some nice gear, a bunch of different things. I’ve got a lot of ideas and I know they got a lot of ideas, too. Hopefully we can definitely make it a long-term deal.”
