The Seton Hall Pirates will name Saint Peter’s Peacocks Head Coach Shaheen Holloway their next Head Coach this week. This comes after their magical run to the 2022 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight as a 15 seed. It also comes after longtime Head Coach Kevin Willard left the Seton Hall program to become the Head Coach of the Maryland Terrapins. Holloway has proved to be a great Head Coach and as an added bonus he played college basketball at Seton Hall from 1996 to 2000. He was also an assistant coach at Seton Hall from 2010 to 2018.
The crazy thing is that Shaheen Holloway was a done deal to Seton Hall before this tourney even started.

In four seasons as the Head Coach of the Saint Peter’s Peacocks, Shaheen Holloway led the team to an overall record of 64-57 and a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference record of 44-32. He also led the team to a MAAC Tournament Championship this year and won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2020. The team’s run to the Elite Eight this year will be considered by many as the greatest Cinderella story in the history of the NCAA Tournament. Details on the deal will be worked out and Seton Hall is expected to make an official announcement soon.
“Saint Peter’s made it the Elite 8. Great story, you guys should write a lot about it.” ?

Seton Hall hopes to stay competitive in the Big East and wants to continue to make the NCAA Tournament. Shaheen Holloway has proved to be a capable Head Coach and with a larger program, he could do great things. Returning to Seton Hall could be the perfect match moving forward.
