If you were unaware, the DMV is producing some of brightest young stars in R&B. From Alex Vaughn and Reggie Becton to Brent Faiyaz and Ari Lennox, there is no shortage of talent in the area. Adding to the pot of R&B artists influencing the genre, Silver Spring, Maryland’s Sarina is ready to make her presence felt. With a seductive blend of R&B, Soul, Pop and Afroswing, Sarina is multi-dimensional talent who can sing, dance and entertain with ease.
Sarina’s latest effort is a steamy, Cherry Beetz-produced track called “Olé.” With elements of Afropop and and R&B, the Silver Spring vocalist tells the story of being so intoxicated with a person’s aura despite a ton of red flags. Despite all the warning signs, Sarina found herself coming back again and again “like a moth to a flame.”
“I make it what I wanna be/Not what’s right in front of me/It’s good as far as I can see/How could we be picture perfect but ain’t no flash?/Memories in the dark don’t last,” she sings.
“Olé” falls in line with previous singles like “Damage” and “Say It Like.” All three singles feel sultry and seductive, but keep enough tempo to have listeners nodding and dancing along with every verse. For that reason and many more, the DMV native’s latest track has already picked up cosigns from Hot 97’s Ebro Darden and Apple Music. A quick search through her catalog will let you know that it won’t be long before the rest of the music world is cosigning Sarina. Be the first to let your friends know about Sarina after checking out her latest single, “Olé.”
