After a dissapointment of a season in Chicago, the team decided to fire Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace from the head coaching and GM position respectively and started their search for the future of the franchise. Poles was the leading candidate for the job and was also in the mix for the Minnessota Vikings and New York Giants, before they hired Joe Schoen.
Poles has spent the last 13 seasons in the Kansas City Chiefs fron office, first as a player personnel assistant and then in the scouting department. During his time in the latest, the team drafted players like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill and Eric Fisher. Recently, he was promoted to be the Director of Player Personnel.
Now, the Bears are focused on hiring a head coach in the next days. Currently the finalists for the position are Coboys Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn, Colts Defensive Coordinator Matt Eberflus and former Lions coach Jim Caldwell.
