
Roy Wood Jr. will host the 77th Annual Writers Guild Awards’ at Edison Ballroom in New York, New York on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Woods is a proven master of ceremonies with experience hosting several events and awards ceremonies, including the 27th Annual Webby Awards, 2nd Annual All-MLB Awards Show and of course, the White House Correspondents Dinner in 2023. Not to mention, he is the current host of CNN’s Have I Got News For You and also set to release a new comedy special on Hulu later this month.
“It’s an honor to return to host this celebration of the people who truly are the red blood cells of this industry. We will plan a wonderful evening and eagerly await notes from the studio executives,” Wood Jr. said.
Alongside Wood Jr., Ronny Chieng of The Daily Show, Adriana Diaz of CBS Mornings, Jesse Eisenberg of A Real Life Pain, Cole Escola of Hacks and several other stars will present awards throughout the ceremony. Also, Scott Frank of The Queen’s Gambit and Logan will receive the Ian McLellan Hunter Award for Career Achievement, Bill Lawrence of Ted Lasso will receive the Herb Sargent Award for Comedy Excellence and Kathy McGee will receive the Richard B. Jablow Award for Devoted Service to the Guild.
