Roddy Ricch may be from California, but he is looking to make an impact around the world. During a recent trip to the Empire State, the chart-topping artist stopped by the Middle School of Marketing and Legal Studies in Brooklyn, New York. While there, he reportedly gave the students a pep talk about staying in school and chasing their dreams. He also posed for pictures and hung out with the students as they delivered an a capella performance of “The Box.”
“We just wanted to come by and show y’all some love and be active in the community and just let y’all know that there’s somebody out there that cares for y’all,” Roddy Ricch told the students, according to Hip Hop DX.
“Everything we do is for the kids. We are here for y’all. I was once y’all.”
The trip culminated with New York State Assemblywoman Monique Chandler-Waterman offering the artist an official citation for his positive impact on the community.
Following his time at the Middle School of Marketing and Legal Studies, Roddy Ricch stopped by Madison Square Garden to perform alongside Post Malone on the “Twelve Carat Tour.” Post Malone and Roddy Ricch will make their way through Columbia, South Carolina and Nashville, Tennessee later this week before stopping Atlanta, Georgia and Dallas, Texas next week.
