Actor Richard Erdman has passed away the age of ninety-three. Film enthusiast and historian, Alan K. Rode, first reported the news on Twitter Saturday night. Rode tweeted, “Goodbye pal. Dick Erdman 1925-2019.” Rode did not offer any other details about the actor’s passing.

The longtime actor had a career in film and television that spanned nearly eighty years. Erdman got his start in 1944 in Janie as Scooper Nolan. Throughout the years, Erdman has made appearances in a number of iconic shows including The Twilight Zone, Cheers and Beverly Hills, 90210. In addition, he has also appeared in films such as Aladdin and His Lamp, Stalag 17, Saddle The Wind and The Men.
To the current generation, Erdman is best known for his role as Leonard in Community. Richard Erdman appeared as Leonard in fifty-three episodes of Community from 2009 until 2015. Erdman appeared alongside contemporary stars such as Donald Glover, Joel McHale and Ken Jeong.
Erdman was married for sixty-three years and had one child. However, he leaves behind no surviving immediate relatives.
