Netflix is going to have a busy month in May. Previously, Netflix has announced the release of Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It and Ava DuVernay’s When They See Us. Now, the streaming platform has opted to announce the release of yet another major series. Today, Netflix unveiled the first photos of Renée Zellweger’s anthology series, What/If.
The new series starring Zellweger will explore an alternate reality where extraordinary people begin doing extraordinarily terrible things. Each series will explore a different series of events inspired by culturally relevant material. Alongside Zellweger, the series includes Jane Levy and Blake Jenner and Mike Kelley. Kelley will write the series and Phillip Noyce will act as the series director. Page Fright, Atlas Entertainment and Compari Entertainment will produce the series.
The series will premiere on May 24th alongside Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It. In the meantime, check out the show’s announcement video above.
