Camden, New Jersey native Raymond “Savage” Ford is looking to end his four-month layoff in June. Boxing Scene has reported that Ford will share the ring with fellow unbeaten featherweight prospect Richard Medina at Tech Port Arena in San Antonio, Texas on June 25, 2022. Ford’s upcoming bout will be featured on the undercard of DAZN’s Jesse Rodriguez-Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. The Camden, New Jersey native will showcase his skills alongside fellow prospects like Marc Castro, Nikita Ababiy and Khalil Coe.
Ford is looking to move his way up the featherweight ladder. The World Boxing Association has ranked the New Jersey native as the eighth best featherweight in the world while the International Boxing Federation has ranked him as the 13th best featherweight in the world. With a win, he would move into the WBA’s title picture and secure the IBF North American belt.
“This is the third time in my last five fights that I’ve gone and taken on an undefeated fighter in front of their fans,” Ford said about his upcoming bout.
“I don’t see any of these other prospects stepping up to the plate.”
