The Texas Longhorns are set to get starting quarterback Quinn Ewers back from injury and he will play against their rivals, the Oklahoma Sooners. He originally injured his non-throwing shoulder on September 10th against the Alabama Crimson Tide. While he dressed out for games this Saturday he will be able to play in the Red River Showdown. He was initially expected to miss four to six weeks and this return is the earlier end of that timeline. Both teams have struggled this year and are both unranked for the matchup.
Sources: Star quarterback Quinn Ewers will return for Texas on Saturday and is expected to start in the Red River game against Oklahoma. He’s been practicing without limitations this week.

To start his career with the Texas Longhorns, Quinn Ewers completed 25 passes for 359 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception on 36 attempts. He was injured in his second career start and missed part of the Alabama game as well as the following three games. The team beat the UTSA Roadrunners and West Virginia Mountaineers but lost to the Texas Tech Red Raiders without Ewers playing. Texas is currently 3-2 (1-1) on the season while Oklahoma is 3-2 (0-2).
NIL deals are paving the way for the long-standing NFL tradition of QB gifting his OL w/ items to make its way to CFB.

Texas and Oklahoma are both uncharacteristically unranked for their matchup on Saturday. The return of Quinn Ewers is a major one for the Texas Longhorns. This year’s Red River Showdown is set to kick off on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. ET.
