E! has decided to move forward with their November 2020 date for this year’s People’s Choice Awards. The network is confident that they can continue to hold the event in Santa Monica as previously scheduled.
Initial concerns were raised about the date given the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nationwide, more than one million people have been diagnosed with the virus. Furthermore, the virus has reportedly killed more than 1,000 people in the Los Angeles area. To put that into perspective, more people have died from COVID-19 in Los Angeles from the virus than in all of Peru or Ecuador.
However, E! is not the only major entertainment entity that believes business will resume this fall. Goldenvoice plans on holding Coachella this October. In addition, Disney plans on releasing Soul and Black Widow this fall.
As it stands now, E! will host the People’s Choice Awards on November 15, 2020 in Santa Monica.
