Check out the latest collaboration for the Packer Shoes x adidas Originals EQT Support 93 ‘SL80’ which marks yet another one under Packer Shoes belt along with adidas originals. These as dope to me and would absolutely be a DEF Cop for me. I was never a big adidas fan growing up just a few caught my attention but lately the collaboration have played a huge role in changing how I feel.
Does that make me a hypebeast?
Anyways, check out the detailed pictures provided by Packer along with their official press release/release details and let us know down in the comments if you plan on getting a pair.
When we were given the opportunity to work on the EQT project with Adidas there was something that just felt right about taking the EQT Support (a shoe that has gained a worldwide cult following over the years) and tying it back to other iconic Adi shoes and color ways with a flip of materials that we hoped would be as timeless as the OG.
Our first EQT was inspired by a groundbreaking shoe celebrating its 30th anniversary (the adidas Micropacer). Our second, based on a shoe coming up on it’s 35th, is a bit more subtle but just as iconic in the Adidas running archives – the adidas SL 80. This isn’t the first time the navy/gold of the inspirational SL 80 has been reinterpreted on an Adidas shoe but taking the simplicity of the original design and reinterpreting it on the EQT Support felt like a good compliment to the Micropacer OG.
Being one of Adidas’ original runners, we felt that releasing this project right around the NYC marathon was only right as well.
The release of this EQT shoe, one of the many projects we have been fortunate to have been involved with over the ten years since we opened up in Teaneck also gives us a moment to pause, look back and be thankful. Over that time much has changed — but thankfully much has stayed the same. During the first years we were open, the internet and social media were not the powerful tool that they are today. The community that has supported us — from customers to those in the industry — helped build the base that we thankfully continue today. With the release of this shoe we are going to give a portion of the sales from each shoe to two causes which we feel is a integral part of that community:
The Wounded Warrior Project – Our first Adidas project was based off the history of the NJ Americans who played two miles down the road at the Teaneck Armory. We have gotten to know many of those who work there and have been customers over time.
The Bradley Carbone Recovery Fund – We have known Bradley from his early media days at Complex thru his current position over at Adidas. Always a friend and supporter of the industry and store, Brad was involved in a serious snowboarding accident a few months back. Since then, a fund was started which has thankfully almost reached it’s goal; this shoe and some of it’s proceeds will help bridge that gap.
