Pablo Torre will expand his presence in sports media. Torre will join Meadowlark Media while contributing to ESPN shows such as Around The Horn and Pardon The Interruption.
“Everyone in this industry knows Pablo’s work resides at the top of it,” Dan LeBatard of Meadowlark Media said.
“He’s an original thinker. A necessary voice. An unimpeachable journalist at a time that could use a few more of those. Very few people his age have his range and his resume. I’m honored and moved that he follows his heart to help us build something excellent. We don’t have to pay him, too, do we?”
Torre has contributed to a number of different ESPN properties within the last decade, including Debatable, High Noon and 30 for 30. At Meadowlark Media, he will “tell original stories, do a bit of journalism” and host his own show. In return for his work, Torre will reportedly receive an equity stake in the company.
“Meadowlark came to me with an offer, an opportunity to design my own job, which I found I could not refuse,” Torre said.
