Kiari “Offset” Cephus has dealt with a number of tough personal and professional challenges throughout the year. To end the year, he was able to get a much-needed win in his hometown. During the holidays, he hosted the first-ever official Offset Toy Giveaway. At the inaugural event, the chart-topping artist was able to support a number of families and put smiles on the faces of children in the midst of the holiday season.
“I just wanted to give back to my community. Thanks to all the kids for always supporting me and always listening to me and always just being there for me, you know,” Offset said, per FOX 5 in Atlanta, Georgia.
“Y’all hold me up. You know we’ve been going through a tough time, but God is good.”
Offset also received a gift during his inaugural toy giveaway. Lawrenceville, Georgia Mayor David Stills presented him with a key to the city. By receiving this key, he hopes to inspire young kids from his hometown to continue chasing their dreams.
“I like to see when celebrities give back to the community, and you know, do their best to make sure that the kids get where they need to go,” Offset said.
Heading into the new year, Offset will take the key to Lawrenceville, Georgia home and continue developing his second solo album. The project is expected to hit streaming services in 2023, but an exact release date has not been revealed just yet.
