The Los Angeles Rams have been dealt a major blow. Adam Schefter of ESPN has reported that Los Angeles Rams Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will miss the remainder of Super Bowl LVI. The team’s medical staff has not publicly identified why Beckham Jr. will not return for the remainder of Super Bowl LVI, but the star receiver appeared to suffer a non-contact left knee injury during the second quarter. It should also be noted that Beckham Jr. suffered an injury to the same knee during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals during the 2020-2021 NFL season.
In his first Super Bowl appearance, Beckham Jr. played well before suffering a knee injury. Targeted three times, the star receiver caught two passes for 52 yards. Most notably, he caught a touchdown pass in the first quarter that gave the Rams an early lead. Unfortunately, the Rams have suffered without Beckham Jr.’s presence. Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals have outscored the Rams 17-3 in the ensuing quarter and change.
Beckham Jr. returned to the sideline after being ruled out for the remainder of the game. Without his presence, Stafford, Cooper Kupp and company will have to pull through if they hope to win Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
