Nike is embarking on another venture down to South Beach but not in a way we are use to seeing that’s for sure. This time taking Penny’s counterpart, his sidekick, Lil Penny with his signature shoe the Nike Lil Penny Posite to a place Penny had a short stint on the Miami Heat.

Last season, the Lil Penny Posite brought a pint-sized legend back to life. This season, the legend continues to grow with a new colorway, inspired by LP’s brief but beautiful stay in Miami.
The Lil Penny Posite design builds upon blocks of Penny’s past, notably elements of the Air Zoom Rookie and the Nike Air Up, as a symbolic follow up to the Nike Air ½ Cent. A decoupled Posite upper retains iconic styling while affording more flexibility, a change of pace from Posites of the past.
Featuring a full-length Nike Lunar midsole and Zoom cushioning in the heel, the Lil Penny Posite employs the latest cushioning technologies, from the bottom up. Molded wings on the shoe’s quarter add a modern sensibility while vintage Flight and 1 Cent insignia keep the design true to its lineage.
The Nike Lil’ Penny Posite “University Red” drops this Saturday, July 12th at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker and Footlocker.com (starting at 8:00 a.m. EDT) for $180. Check the Launch Locator to see which stores will have this release.
