Taking its inspiration from the Nike Air Zoom Generation ‘Wheat’ released back in 2004 for LeBron James, where he wore them in the Rookie Challenge. The colorway was inspired from a comment King James made to Nike designers that he could play basketball in any footwear, including Timberlands.
Fast forward 12 years later, the Nike LeBron 12 EXT ’12th Generation’ pays homage to the ‘wheat’ colorway that many actually frowned upon when it first released.
With a full wheat nubuck on the upper, even the hyperposite features a wheat colorway as well. To stand out is the gold swoosh and if you look at the heel tab you notice the date “2/13/04” which gives indication of the date the AZG ‘Wheat’ released.
