The west being Europe and China, Bryant is like a God across seas to many basketball fans and connecting the two cultures has been a staple in Kobe’s signature line for some time now.

Kobe Bryant spent his childhood years in Italy and has enjoyed traveling throughout Greater China as an adult. His connections to both the European and Asian continents led Nike designers to think about the legendary Silk Road, the inspiration for the new KOBE X Silk shoe.
From as early as 210 B.C. to 1453 A.D., the 4,000-mile Silk Road operated as a trade route between Europe and Asia. Designers drew inspiration for the latest version of Bryant’s 10th signature style from 1st century silk tapestries that often were designed in orange and burgundy motifs.
The KOBE X Silk will be available globally at nike.com and select retail locations on March 21.
