Yeah I know, It’s the Nike KD 7 ‘Texas’ but it looks to be that Nike is dubbing them ‘Wild West’ this year. Don’t shoot the messenger, just passing along the information as it appears. Check out the details pictures below, release details as well as a short video clip going into the storyline of the shoes.
Let us know down in the comments will these be a DEF Cop or DEF Not.
Summer 2006 was a pivotal time for Kevin Durant’s growth. The day after high school graduation, Durant moved to Austin, Texas, to attend college.
The KD7 Wild West shoe takes inspiration from the Longhorn State and the Austin culture that Durant enjoyed. Knowing little about Texas and southwest hospitality, Durant immediately felt at home when he arrived on campus in Austin. The friendly welcome extended beyond the basketball court as Durant enjoyed the music, people, food and culture that was distinctly Austin.

“My experience in Austin helped build character,” said Durant. “It was so different from home, but that’s what made it unique and special.”
Durant’s accomplishments on the court speak volumes as he was named 2006-07 Naismith College Player of the Year – the first freshman in history to do so – while averaging 25.8 points and 11.1 rebounds while quieting the naysayers who questioned his physical and mental toughness.
The KD7 Wild West features a silver and orange color scheme that’s set off with a metallic Hyperposite heel. As the 10th KD7 colorway to roll out since the shoe’s debut in June, the KD7 Wild West continues storytelling distinct to Durant’s journey.
