“And I ain’t rockin no more designer sh*t
White T’s and Nike Cortez….”
King Kendrick as many refer to him as will appreciate this release as the Nike Classic Cortez is returning. If you remember the ever so controversial ‘Control’ verse you should remember the lyric above.
Anyway it looks like Nike is going into their bag of tricks with bringing back another classic in the Cortez. Simplicity at its best, I may be too young to appreciate what it was this silhouette has brought to the forefront for the sneaker culture but I am sure a purist or enthusiast of age will have other wise to say.
Check out the Nike Store release details below and detailed pictures then let us know down in the comments will these be a DEF Cop or DEF Not.

NIKE CLASSIC CORTEZ: TRUE TO FORM
A pioneer on the track since 1972, the Nike Cortez revolutionized the running world through the innovative thinking of track coach Bill Bowerman. His vision was simple: create a running shoe that’s as comfortable as it is durable. The result not only allowed his athletes to run longer and faster, but it also changed the sport.
Building off its immediate success, the Cortez became an even bigger star within the community. Embraced for its undeniable comfort and simple, yet versatile appearance, the classic colorway moved from the pavement to the big screen in iconic fashion. Celebrating its legendary 43-year journey, the Cortez returns to reignite the passion of a running classic.
Arriving in an original colorway, the Cortez features a premium white leather upper, foam tongue and varsity red Swoosh logo. A full-length EVA foam midsole adds a thick layer of padding to keep your foot elevated over rugged surfaces. Additionally, a rubber outsole molded in a herringbone pattern provides superior traction in classic Cortez form.
A classic returns true to form. The Nike Classic Cortez drops February 28 on nike.com/sportswear and select Nike Sportswear retailers worldwide.
