Nike loves the kids and that is something made evident on numerous occasions. If it isn’t the Doernbecher Freestyle collection, the grade school exclusive KD’s, Kobe’s or LeBron’s they certainly know how to make young athletes feel appreciated. Well when it comes to LeBron James and his signature line, the Soldier series from experience is a big seller among the younger sneaker heads and average kid in school. So how could Nike continue to build on supplying the young ballers with their own grade school exclusive? Introducing the Nike Air Akronite.
By the name alone it is obvious this sneaker was made specifically with the influence of King James hometown in mind, Akron, Ohio. The colorway if you haven’t recognized by now takes cues from the very popular ‘Galaxy’ All Star Collection as it sports the LeBron ‘Galaxy’ logo and the NIKE ‘Galaxy’ logo. The upper is constructed of mesh and foamposite material and the strap adds a familiar touch to the silhouette. If I am not mistaken the midsole/tooling sports the structure of the Nike Air Tech Challenge II which is an interesting addition.
As of right now this is a grade school exclusive and the expected release date is set for October 15, 2015. When more information is provided we will update you guys, in the meantime check out the picture and let us know your thoughts down in the comments.
