Nurse led the Raptors to the second seed in the Eastern Conference this season with a record of 53-19, overachieving on preseason expectations following the departure of Kawhi Leonard to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Last season, Nick Nurse led Toronto to its first NBA Championship in his first season in charge following taking over from Dwane Casey.
Other finalists for Coach of the Year were Mike Budenholzer of the Milwaukee Bucks and Billy Donovan of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Both Budenholzer and Donovan were recently named Co-Coaches of the Year by the National Basketball Coaches Association.
