Netflix is ready to kick off the new year with a bit of good news. The streaming platform has unveiled the first look at young Lady Agatha Danbury in the Bridgerton prequel series, Queen Charlotte. Played by Arsema Thomas, the first image of Agatha Danbury places the young royal staring into the eyes of another woman in the midst of the evening.
“Centered on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, this Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton,” the series’ logline reads, per Variety.
Throughout the limited series, India Amarteifio, Ruth Gemmell, Corey Mylchreest, Adjoa Andoh and Sam Clemmett will appear alongside Thomas. Shonda Rhimes will step in as the showrunner, writer and executive producer. Meanwhile, Tom Verica will serve as director and Betsy Beers is an executive producer.
The eight-episode limited series is expected to debut later in 2023.
