The Houston Rockets have signed power forward Nene Hilario to a 1-year, $2.9 million deal per the Vertical’s Adrian Wojanrowksi. He spent the last 5 years with the Washington Wizards, averaging 9.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and about 2 assists a game last year for the Wizards. The 14 year veteran will now sign a 1-year deal to join James Harden in Houston:

He is an interesting addition to the Rockets. With Clint Capela set to start at center alongside Ryan Anderson, Trevor Ariza, Harden and Patrick Beverley, He is probably going to be a strong force off the bench for the Rockets. The Rockets are a very different team from what they were last year, without Dwight Howard, and the addition of newly hired Head Coach Mike D’Antoni, the Rockets are looking to push the pace against teams next year. It will be interesting to see how he fits into that equation, but screen and rolls with him and Harden are going to be hard to stop.
