Anderson averaged a career-best 17 points per game with New Orleans last season, shooting 43% from the field and 37% from behind the arc.
Before agreeing to a deal with the Rockets, Anderson had received interest from the Kings, Nets, Rockets, and Wizards. His shooting ability is coveted by several teams around the association.
For the Rockets, the signing of Anderson comes on the heels of Dwight Howard’s exit yesterday afternoon. Houston now has nearly $20 million left to work with before going over the cap.
Ryan Anderson was selected No. 21 overall by New Jersey in the 2008 NBA Draft. He was a part of the 2009 Eastern Conference Champion Orlando Magic, and won the Most Improved Player Award in 2012. At 28 years old, Anderson is heading into the prime stage of his career, the perfect time to capitalize on the current market and strike a lucrative deal with Houston.
