Head Coach Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks have landed the commitment of 2023 top-five recruit and top-three small forward Mookie Cook. He committed to the Oregon Ducks over the Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Kentucky Wildcats. Cook is the second highest-rated recruit to commit to the Oregon Ducks only behind NBA forward Bol Bol. This is a massive addition for Dana Altman who needs to recapture some of the success he has previously brought the Oregon Ducks program.

Mookie Cook is currently ranked as the 4th best prospect and the second-best small forward in the 2023 recruiting class. He joins four-star point guard Jackson Shelstad as the only recruits currently headed to Oregon in the 2023 class. There are still several recruits that Oregon has offers out to with time for that list to grow more. Cook is in all likelihood a future “one and done” prospect and will only spend one year with the Oregon Ducks. Talent like this helps programs compete harder on the court and in the recruiting realm. Oregon has already proved it can get players to the NBA.

Mookie Cook still has a year left in high school and his current ranking could shift down or even up in that time. Regardless Oregon has a talented player coming in and they will do their best to maximize his talent while he is with the program.
