The Creed universe could be expanding into new areas. A recent report from Deadline indicates that Michael B. Jordan has had discussions with MGM and Amazon regarding Creed spinoff television and anime series.
The report indicates that details regarding potential projects remain unclear because the project is still in the exploratory stages, but a Rocky spinoff anime series was specifically highlighted. Also, a live-action TV series was mentioned along with a potential project following the life of Adonis Creed’s daughter, Amara, played by Mila Davis-Kent in Creed III. At this time, Michael B. Jordan, MGM and Amazon have opted not to comment on the report.
This is not the first time that reports of Creed and Rocky spinoff projects have surfaced. Previously, there were reports of a spinoff film following Ivan Drago and his son, Viktor Drago. A script has reportedly been commissioned, but it is unclear if the idea will morph into a full-blown film.
More recently, Michael B. Jordan has promoted the box office hit, Creed III. In an interview last month, the New Jersey native said that there were would be a fourth film in the saga. Then, he told Deadline that he was looking forward to building out the world around Adonis Creed.
“Building the Creed universe is something that I’m really excited about,” he said.
Not to mention, Tessa Thompson also said that she would be willing to come back for another film.
“The thing that has been really exciting about all of the movies that we’ve made thus far is that everyone has real skin in the game. We have something that we collectively want to say, and I think there’s still plenty left to say,” Thompson told The Hollywood Reporter.
“If audiences want to see it, I think we’d all be happy to return.”
