One of the great values on defense is to have the new hybrid guy. Micah Hyde is a versatile defender who can play safety, cornerback and play the middle a fast linebacker in some packages. Hyde was a great player in Green Bay on his rookie contract, but the Packers are never big players in free agency and decided to re-sign Nick Perry on a big contract. With the Packers not interested in two major contracts today, Micah Hyde is signing with the Buffalo Bills.
Recently the Bills let go of safety Aaron Williams, paving way for Hyde to land in Buffalo. Hyde is the Bills first big signing of the year and will provide some much-needed help.
Micah has had 55-60 tackles in each of his four seasons with Green Bay and provides help in the return game as well. With Williams gone, Hyde will be starting for Buffalo next to Corey Graham. With Stephon Gilmore lost to the New England Patriots, secondary help was high on the list for the Bills.
Ian Rapoport tweeted out the contract details first saying that the deal is for 5 years and $14 million is guaranteed.
