As the weekend kicked off, the GRAMMY-Award-winning songstress unveiled a new single called “Mona Lisa Smile.” Produced by Dre Harris, the captivating drum patterns dance in the background of the nearly four-minute track as the soulful powerhouse known as Melanie Fiona delivers verse after verse about those who wear a brave face even when the world crashes down upon them.
“This song is an homage to all the brave, broken, beautiful works of art—the women, the wives, the mothers—truly, anyone holding it together despite wanting to fall apart,” Fiona said about her latest single from her upcoming EP. “The ‘Mona Lisa Smile’ is the armor we all wear to protect our pain.”
“Mona Lisa Smile” sets the stage for Melanie Fiona’s first project since 2012’s The MF Life.
